Engineer Dino Skrapic, MBA, passed away very unexpectedly in October 2009 at the age of 39. This terrible event came too soon, filling all those who loved him with a sense of loss that will never be overcome.
He was a man of great dynamism, a person who walked down several paths of life with passion and determination.
He loved music and graduated as a pianist from the music school (Conservatory) in Pola/Pula, Croatia.
He loved physics and graduated in electronic engineering at the Milan Polytechnic in Italy.
He was very interested in economics and the link between his work and the field of economics. This led to his graduating from the London Business School with flying colours.
He started to work hard and successfully at a very young age. He was a researcher at the Lausanne Polytechnic, he worked for Motorola in Geneva and Munich, he was an associate at two renowned London banks – Goldman Sachs and Nomura. His last job was as a financial consultant for the Generali insurance company in Trieste, Italy.
This foundation has been created by his mother, Dr. Marisa Sciolis, to commemorate him in the best possible way.
The aim of the foundation is to help deserving students by assigning two scholarships – one for students of electronic engineering and the other for students at the music school in Pola/Pula.
The foundation will also make an annual donation to the Parish of St. Euphemia in Rovigno/Rovinj.
The application form for the scholarship is available on the website of the foundation.
